ping G20 driver will appear flat by comparison

The Ping G20 Driver is designed for all ability levels. External weighting helps launch the forgiving G20 driver with a high, low spinning ball flight for maximum distance and accuracy. PING's proprietary high-balance-point TFC 169D shaft creates a higher MOI and generates faster ball speeds enabling golfers to swing a clubhead with more mass at the same speed, for longer, straighter drives. The Ping G20 is a 460cc clubhead made from Ti 8-1-1, a lower-density, lighter alloy material. Its high strength-to-weight ratio increases the MOI and allows additional weight to be strategically placed on the head. Large, variable-thickness in the Ping G20 Driver's face increases MOI across the hitting surface and generates faster ball speeds for increased forgiveness and power.

At the recent Open Championship, the Ping G20 was Ping's most popular model, with nine in play.

Ping G20 driver is making its public debut this week at the PGA Tour's FedEx St. Jude Classic. (The club will be available at retail in mid-August.) Expect Ping's Tour pros, including defending champion Lee Westwood, to work with the new driver during the practice days, though, it remains to be seen whether anyone will put it into play come Thursday.

The company's "game-improvement"Ping's G20 driver are almost always among the highest-rated sticks in Golf Magazine's annual "ClubTest" program because of their ability to blend forgiveness and power. Ping's tried-and-true design checklist includes optimizing center-of-gravity location; aerodynamics; feel; clubface size; structure (how it interacts on shots around the face); and clubhead inertia (stability) on off-center hits (high/low or heel/toe).

Where shape is concerned the G20 looks every bit of its 460CCs (that's a nice way of saying it's bulkier than most).

Well, as I talked, one tester was a bit put off by the size, but for the most part nobody else had much to say about it. Finally, at address the face appears to have less bulge and roll than other drivers (this is true of the K15 as well). While it doesn't matter one way or the other, if you're accustomed to a more prominent rounding of your driver face, the ping G20 driver will appear flat by comparison. The price is also cool,

The looks about ping G20 driver is pretty attractive, it does have externally visible weighting, they've managed to tuck it in just enough so that it's not visible at address. It's an excellent compromise that will still appeal to those guys who want to see their technology, and won't offend those of us who don't. As is typical for PING, there sole graphics while prominent, are not flashy, and while I'm not a tremendous fan of the alignment aid on the crown (seriously…what is that thing), it serves its purpose just fine - even if it does make me want the old crescent style back.
