TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB and MB Irons

Tell you, the TaylorMade Tour Preferred CB Irons is the latest and greatest from one of the top names in golf. This Tour-preferred set has a cavity back for soft, responsive feel and consistency and allows forgiveness on off-center hits.

The new Tour Preferred Forged CB irons (CB stands for Cavity Back) are created by plasma-welding a 8620 carbon steel cast body and a slightly firmer, forged, carbon steel face. This construction allowed TaylorMade to incorporate an undercut in the back of the club, which in turn let designers move more weight lower and deeper to increase forgiveness.

The face also features TaylorMade's Inverted Cone Technology, which varies the thickness of the face itself so shots that are slightly mis-hit create nearly the same ball speed as shots hit in the sweet spot.

A carbon composite badge on the back of the face helps to dampen the impact sound and further enhance feel. The TP CB irons have a thin topline, but the widest sole of the three new forged irons, as well as the most offset and slightly stronger lofts. Still, at their friendliest, the clubs would be classified as game-improvement irons.

And serious players need only apply when you get to this level. The TaylormadeTour Preferred Forged MB Irons (MB stands of Muscle Back) is all about feel and control.

There is no carbon composite badge here to alter the feel created at impact, although to make the TP MB irons appeal to more players, a touch of offset has been added to the hosel.

The heads of the TP MBs are slightly smaller from heel to toe than the TP MC, but the par area, where the face meets the hosel, has been made much smaller. The reason for this is that most accomplished players want to see the face coming right out of hosel.

Four Good Reasons to Take Up Golf as a Sport

Golfing is one of the best exercises that you can do.Can you imagine the amount of walking you can do on any given course, if you’re not a straight hitter? Some golf courses make you take a golf cart because of the steep terrain. Golfing can keep you’re heart pumping at a good pace depending on the golf terrain. So if you have not walked a country mile. Take up golf and you will have you’re fair share of walking a country mile.

1. The Challenge

A lot of people would ask the same question over and over again, and probably still do today. Why would anybody want to chase a little cheap golf clubs around? I use to think and ask myself the same question until that very first liftoff from a fairway lie. Oh yes! It is a great feeling when you finally lift it off the fairway and watch the ball fly towards the green and watch it land and roll towards the flagstick, especially if you are a long distance from the green and hitting the green in regulation. The feeling of success is amazing and the challenge to do it again brings you back time and time again.

Once you catch that feeling, the challenge to come back and repeat the same golf shot makes you a better golfer in the long run. The challenge you have now sticks with you the more you play. The frustration of not being able to do it over and over again, and then finally once again there goes that beautiful golf shot again, makes you come back for more. Golfing has more than one challenge. The challenge within yourself to play better golf, and the challenge to play better than you’re competitor. A lot of times the challenge to beat your own game can be a real uphill battle. Go ahead and try the challenge.

2. The Scenery

Golf courses truly have some of the best breathtaking scenery, depending on where you reside. A lot of the Titleist 910F fairway wood have rolling fairways and trees of all colors that stretch out on both sides of the fairway, creeks that split fairways in half. Lot of golf courses have greens that are surrounded by huge trees, rock formations, and rolling mounds, and many other natural beauties.

Most golf courses surround their greens with water and sand traps. The tee boxes on some courses are perched up on a hillside overlooking a valley, or body of water. Flowers and plants, and or more trees surround a lot of tee boxes. Sometimes the tee boxes and greens are in the wilderness, and or near cliffs. There is a lot of great scenery on golf courses that will want you to say. This is amazing scenery!

3. The Peace and Tranquility

The best part of golf is the relaxation you get out it, depending on how you’re game is going of course. Just imagine yourself nestled on a tee box first thing in the morning, and all you hear is the chirping of the birds and the sound of the trees blowing around you. Another good feeling is standing in the middle of the Callaway RAZR Hawk Fairway Wood with the sun beating down on you with a cool misty breeze coming from a nearby body of water. I like the late afternoon just before the sun goes down and the trees are swaying a bit more.

Sometimes all you hear is a plane going by overhead and the crack of another golf ball going off a tee box. A lot of the golf courses take you away from the clubhouse and land you out in the country, and or fairly wooded areas where the peace and tranquility of mother nature truly makes you sit up and take hold of it’s natural beauty it has to offer.

Make Old Clubs Like New

Over the years, I've learned that some golfing tips are better than others. To be honest, some of the best golf tips are also some of the simpliest to apply. This may be one that falls into that category.

If you're like me and find yourself not able to afford wholesale golf clubs this year or you simply don't want to get rid of your old favorites, consider reinvigorating those old clubs with some new grips.

Depending on how much you play and practice will determine when you should be thinking about replacement grips. And, of course, better made grips should last longer than less expensive ones. But, overall, after two or three seasons, it's time to take a look at those grips to see if they are still holding up.

Generally speaking, common sense, coupled with a keen visual inspection, will tell you if it's time to replace the grips. Look for flat spots, worn areas, and nicks and cuts. Also, check the tightness of the grip on the shaft. There is nothing worse for your game than a loose grip. And, no, wrapping it with duct tape is not the answer.

If you decide that is time to replace those old, worn-out grips, do a bit of research before jumping into the replacement phase. Take a trip to a good pro shop and ask the pro there for some advice. Most better pro shops will actually do the replacements for you and are happy to spend some time with you as you decide on the right type of grip.

Keep in mind that you do not have to replace your old grips with the exact same type of grip. It may be time to explore a new model of grip. Issues such as grip thickness, material, length and overall "feel" in your hands, can all be changed at this point. Find something that really feels as if it is a part of your hands. Something that fits you perfectly. Again, the pro can help you with this decision and show you various kinds of grips to fit your individual needs and budget.

Now as much as I love the Internet and all that it is capable of doing, I don't recommend that you buy your grips online until after you have had a chance to physically test a few grips. If you plan to replace your grips with exactly the same style and model of grip that you have now, this isn't too big an issue. But if you're planning to switch models, then do yourself a big favor and test some out in person before ordering online. Getting a set of new grips that look awesome online but feel "wrong" in your hands will only disappoint you.

The fact is, putting new grips on old clubs is a great way to save money and improve your game. It's almost like getting a new set for a fraction of the cost!

If you Love Callaway RAZR X Irons

In designing the clubs, Callaway Golf kept in mind something we all know is true: Mid- and high-handicappers often struggle to hit down through the ball.

The Callaway RAZR X Irons are optimized with that in mind. We often hit the ball thin with irons, because the bottom of the swing arc isn't catching that nice, pretty shallow divot. In other words, when playing irons from the fairways, most golfers hit a lot of balls off the lower part of the iron face.

I like that the sweet spot is larger and lower on the face.It seems almost all of my mis hits I hit are thin shots to low on the face,so I am thinking that this will help. They say with this setup they were able to make the lofts stronger so the ball will go farther, and my thinking on that is then maybe I dont have to have the full set and carry a couple more wedges.

The company claims the irons are for "golfers looking to make the jump from being a high handicap to a single digit player." So while they target both distance and forgiveness, the irons keep certain looks from players' clubs, such as the thin sole width.

I ordered pw-6iron to see what the distances are going to be.In the past I had a set of cobras that had a huge sweet spot and could hit those things along ways like a pw 150. After just coming off playing mizunos mp 68's and ping i3 blades I know I am going to love them.
