Cleveland CG15 Satin Chrome Wedge VS CG F1 Wedge

As is known to all, the cleveland cg15 satin chrome wedges feature a Laser Milled face that produces four perfectly texture lines milled between each groove which optimized ball-to-face friction and maximizes spin within the rules of the game.
Its Zip grooves optimize the groove dimensions to USGA limits, which channels away the most debris possible to improve contact and maximize spin. The Satin Chrome finish provides a clean, classic look from address.
FootJoy has announced it is taking significant steps to develop its golf clothing with a new line of designs and fabrics ready for shipment into Europe in March 2012.
Already the best selling golf brand in golf shoes and gloves, FootJoy says the new lines will  be supplemented by new and contemporary colours and patterns in a variety of styles purely for golfers.
The time of day we play golf can seriously effect our performance, according to sleep experts. Though playing the 'dawn patrol' may be more convenient, it's more likely to deliver more bogeys than birdies, while a late afternoon tee time is more productive for better scoring.
And the cleveland cg F1 Wedge has a straight leading edge and round head shape with a taller heel and straight neck. This versatile head is easy to play square or open. One of its biggest fans is former World No.2 Steve Stricker who says: "I'm impressed with the quality, fit and comfort FootJoy's layering system. It allows me to regulate my body temperature based on changing conditions."
It features consistent milling of each groove to maximum conforming dimensions. The absolute integrity of these grooves is maintained by the application of a proprietary coating to each groove for protection during the face sandblasting process. The resulting ZIP Grooves are Cleveland's biggest and most precisely milled ever.
"Following our success in the outerwear category, including the popular layering system, the time has come for FootJoy to enter the full line men's golf apparel business," says FootJoy's Andy Jones. "This strategic initiative has been carefully considered for several years and is supported by an extremely sophisticated and comprehensive study of the golf apparel category.

Overton Takes Nelson Lead With Bogey-Free 64

IRVING, Texas (AP) — When the par putt dropped for Jeff Overton on the second hole early in the Byron Nelson Championship, things suddenly seemed to be going in the right direction for him again.

"That broke a lot and I thought I missed it, and it actually went in," Overton said about the 10-footer on the 220-yard par-3 hole. "And next thing, I was able to hit a lot of great shots and strike out early. I never had a chance of making bogey from there. "

Overton went on to a bogey-free 6-under 64 on Thursday to take the first-round lead at the Nelson, a stroke better than Ryan Palmer.

After that breaker on No. 2, Overton made consecutive birdies. He then started his back nine with four birdies in a seven-hole stretch for his best score in 15 career rounds at the Nelson, even after his 22-foot birdie try on the closing hole lipped out.

Among his three runner-up finishes last season, when Overton was on the Ryder Cup team, was at the Nelson. "It's nice having confidence because of last year," Overton said. "I knew I played well. I just wanted to keep things rolling."

Sergio Garcia, who withdrew from a British Open qualifier this week and didn't even play a practice round at TPC Four Seasons because of an infected fingernail on his left hand, was in a group of nine players two strokes back after opening 66s.

The infection on Garcia's ring finger made it difficult to grip a club. His finger was sore a few days ago that he thought he might not even be able to play.

How about this for a cure for Garcia? Antibiotic cream, draining the infection, seeing the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie and an opening eagle.

Review about: Callaway FT-iZ driver

Callaway Golf says that in its never-ending mission to find more distance and accuracy for golfers, its engineers used an entirely new design to produce the Callaway FT-iZ Driver which it revealed at the PGA Merchandise Show last week.
No price has been set for the club but standard versions will be fitted with Aldila Voodoo shafts and loft options will be 9, 10, 11 and 13 degrees .
When it comes to Callaway drivers, I’m more of an FT-9 man than FT-iQ, and although I certainly recognize the benefit of the crown’s unique shape on the Draw version, I’m not terribly keen on the original Diablo which I’m sure will be usurped, surpassed and become outdated with the launch of the new Diablo Edge in a few weeks’ time.
With TaylorMade clubs, I’m still perfectly happy to tonk it in the general direction of the fairway with my old r7 425, rather than the newer R9 or R9 460 which, too, will be more or less swallowed up when the R9 Super Tri, already a hit on the pro Tours (‘We’ve optimized the world’s most optimized driver’), arrives at a store near you later this month.
You see where I’m coming from? Head shape and a sense of familiarity are far more important to me than the very latest technological ‘breakthrough’ which, as we all know, might be no more technological than a slightly different color paint and new graphic.
A golfer would be foolish though to reject every new cheap golf clubs that comes along, and definitely shouldn’t pass up the possibility of carrying the ball an extra couple of yards just for the sake of being a traditionalist – as if hitting a TaylorMade r7 425, Nike SQ DYMO, Callaway FT-i or Big Bertha 460, for instance, makes you a traditionalist.

Collingtree pair win Matchplay Championship

Northampton golfers, Andrew Billson and Andy Castell who play at the former European tour venue at Collingtree Park are the latest winners of the JRW Group's Matchplay Pairs championship.

They won the title at The Els Club in Dubai after a fearless display over the back nine to overturn a one-shot deficit with four holes to play behind overnight leaders Chris Scott-Douglas and Mike Ankers.

Wrexham players Paul Fell (Clays Golf Centre) and Joanne Beddows (Caldy) claimed the mixed pairs by five shots from Mike Perry and Samantha Hill adding 43 betterball stableford points to their second round 78 total.

“If you’re an amateur golfer and you don’t pay just £25 to enter this tournament you must be mad, " said Billson. "It has been a fantastic experience to come over to Dubai and compete in the final.  Everything is so well run it’s like playing in a professional tournament.

He added: "We got off to a slow, nervous start in the last round, but we really got it going around the turn making three straight birdies from the seventh hole. My partner hit it in the hazard on 15 but amazingly the ball was playable and he got it greenside chipped in for birdie and earned us four points. That was the turning point."

More than 30 golfers enjoyed luxurious accommodation at the Marriott Dubai Harbour Hotel as well as complimentary flights to Dubai and four rounds of golf at the world-renowned Els Club, designed by the former World No.1.

Said John Woosey, managing director of the JRW Group commented: “It has been a fantastic final and the tournament has been an overwhelming success; we couldn’t be happier so a big thanks to our spneosrs for their support.”

“It’s been a pleasure having the Matchplay Championships here at The Els Club this week,” commented Chris Brown, General Manager, The Els Club, Dubai. “The course is in great shape at the moment and hopefully the players have had fun playing on a championship calibre golf course. We’re looking forward to hosting the tournament again next year.”
